"Today I write with mixed emotions.
In 2013, I was given the honour of taking over MILSIG Distribution in Canada. When this happened, I was a one-man show. It was just me, and a small storage closet outside of my basement apartment. Not long after that, the paintball industry saw the largest economic boom in its history.
Unfortunately, since that time, things have declined. We’d all like to point fingers at what factors we think caused an industry-wide decline, but I think there is no simple answer to what went wrong.
When I first came on board with MILSIG, MagFed was in its infancy, it was our job to make it known and take the front stage. With the right people and a revolutionary marker, we did that. We conquered the unconquerable. We revolutionized MagFed and paintball as a whole. We proved a new standard of customer service and set the bar HIGH. We conquered giants and left them scrambling. We helped make MagFed the mainstream. We attended hundreds of events and met tens of thousands of amazing people. We supported the causes and the people we loved. We had triumphed, but more importantly, we had struggles that proved our resolve.
Paintball and MILSIG helped to shape the path of the future for me and my family, but I don’t think it comes as a surprise to anyone when I say that the paintball side of our business was eventually moved to the sidelines. Between in-fighting of the industry, the players, and the intolerable treatment by retailers, our hearts and passions drifted further towards PatchPanel, the other side of what we do.
I made it known to the brand about 6 months ago that it was time for me to focus on what I am most passionate about, and that it was time to find someone else to take the reins of this machine and steer it into a changing industry. Outside of this, I didn’t have any say or input as to who comes next.
As you have likely seen already, Valken is now selling MILSIG products directly under their own branding. This results at the end of our participation in the MILSIG Brand and Distribution. Beginning immediately we will begin clearance of all inventory, so stay tuned for some unique gems, relics, and ludicrous deals (you should head over to milsigdirect.ca if you want to get in on that).
Conveniently, it looks like not a thing has been changed on the Valken M17, so parts should remain readily available, as well as technical support. Any further requests, questions, or inquiries should be sent to cho@milsig.com, or directly to Valken technical support. We will still be around for the foreseeable future to clear out inventory and will do our best to aid in that transition with any information that you need.
Thank you so much to everyone that has believed in me through this adventure. I have made the best friends anyone could ask for, and a bucket list worth of the best experiences one could have. I’m not down, nor out, and looking forward to focusing time and effort into providing an unparalleled experience through PatchPanel.
I am so unbelievably excited for what the future will bring.

I’ll have more to say in the coming month as we wind things down. But I wrote enough of a novel today."
